Submersible Pumps

Submersible pumps are a type of centrifugal pump that operates while submerged in liquid or solids. They feature a motor that is attached to the pump’s body, creating an airtight seal. Submersible pumps make use of pressurised fluid (from centrifugal pressure) to push water to the surface.

Liquid Movers’ industrial submersible pumps are used for a wide range of applications including sewage, wastewater, water or oil well, seawater, irrigation, slurry, high viscosity, and deep borehole applications.

We stock and distribute the CREST range of submersible pumps. Each pump in our range features:

  • Cast iron design for increased durability
  • High-quality mechanical seal & high chrome alloy impeller for increased durability
  • Leak-free design for increased submersible depths & corrosive resistance
  • Compact design for use in space-restricted spaces
  • Available in 1 & 3 phase
  • Protection class of IP 68 & insulation class of H
  • Capacity to operate with heavy slurries & sewage

Why choose CREST’s submersible pumps?

CREST is quality-centric and prides itself on its trustworthy and open values. CREST is committed to providing technologies for controlling and protecting water and is guided by its aim to never stop challenging itself to create better solutions.

Liquid Movers distributes CREST’s range of submersible pumps across sub-Saharan Africa.

Frequently Asked Questions

• High versatility & reliability
• High efficiency
• No priming required
• Not prone to cavitation (a problem associated with a high contrast in elevation between the pump and the surface to which the pump is pumping fluid).

Submersible pumps are designed to operate underwater, moving fluids from one location to another. The fluid is drawn into the pump rotating the impeller, which then pushes the water out of the outlet. They are used in applications where the pump needs to be fully submerged in fluid.

The motor inside submersible pumps produces a significant amount of heat during its operation, so it is either filled with water or oil for effective cooling. The continuous circulation of the water or oil coolant around the motor ensures that the submersible pump does not overheat.

Submersible pumps are used to pump fluids to the ground level, they need to be covered in fluid so they can be used in pumping fluid from wells, sewage systems, and irrigation systems. They can also be used in construction, oil and gas and mining industry to pump water out of excavations, trenches, reservoirs – where water accumulates.

Submersible pumps need to be completely submerged. The pump needs to pump water to the surface and the fluid that the pump is submerged in plays a role in cooling the pump’s motor.
